Congressman Suozzi storms gates of Russian Ambassador to UN in solidarity with Ukraine
The Democratic candidate for Governor of New York, Tom Suozzi, has reached the gates of Russian Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) in Glen Cove—his hometown—with about 100 others standing by. This is in solidarity with Ukraine in the ongoing Ukraine-Russian conflict.
“Standing here outside the gates of Russian Ambassador to UN in Glen Cove,” confirmed Tom Suozzi in a Twitter post made on Monday, February 28, 2022.
Tom Suozzi, who was a former Mayor of Glen Cove said during his tenure as Mayor, the gates of the Soviet Union was open but “now we are back in battle days because of Putin,” he lamented.
“Putin is lying, he’s manipulative, he’s killing people, he’s breaking every international norm. We must do everything we can to hold Putin and the Russian Communist Party accountable for what they are doing right now, whether it’s the sanctions, whether it’s the Ukrainian people fighting that need our support in the form of humanitarian aid and military aid.
“We must give everything we possibly can, we must stay united with our allies.”
Responding to Russian’s invasion of Ukraine, he said “what Putin is doing is illegal, it’s immoral and we must hold him accountable for his lying and manipulative behaviour (…)
“We must cut them off from all of our banks in the financial systems and do everything we can to seize the property of Russian oligarchs, both here and New York State and the United States of America and the world until they finally relent.”
“We must embargo all Russian products and stop them from continuing this murder and aggression of Ukraine people.”
He then preached unity against any form of oppression and violation of Ukrainian people.
“The key is we must stay united, Democrats and Republicans, the People of the United States of America and our European Allies and everyone in the West and all freedom-loving people and countries throughout the world (…) Partisanship has to end,” admonished Suozzi.
