Israeli opposition leader condemns Netanyahu government as ‘zero government’

Israeli opposition leader Yair Golan launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government on Sunday, labeling it a “zero government” following a missile strike from Yemen that landed near Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport, injuring at least nine people.

Golan, head of the Labor Party, voiced his criticism on X, asserting that Netanyahu’s coalition is steering the country into an “endless war.” He urged citizens to take action, stating, “Only continuous popular pressure will bring down this government.”

The missile attack, which occurred early Sunday, has intensified scrutiny of the government’s handling of national security. Golan described the incident as a clear sign of the government’s failures, accusing it of exacerbating conflict rather than seeking resolutions.

Further complicating the situation, debris from interceptor missiles fell on a train station near Modi’in, causing damage, and sparked a fire in Kfar Daniel, according to reports from *Haaretz*.

Echoing Golan’s sentiments, the Yesh Atid Party, led by opposition leader Yair Lapid, called for Netanyahu’s resignation, branding the coalition as a “government of national disasters.” With tensions rising both externally and domestically, the opposition’s push for daily protests is gaining momentum in a deeply divided Israel.
