In a proactive response to the impending threat of Hurricane Helene, President Biden has taken to Twitter earlier today to highlight the extensive preparations made by his administration to assist communities in the storm’s path.
The President stated, “Days before this storm hit, I directed my Administration to pre-position federal personnel, critical supplies, and more near the storm’s path. We’re moving heaven and earth to make sure that everyone affected by this storm gets what they need.”
The response efforts are already underway, with over 5,600 federal personnel deployed across the affected regions. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has mobilized significant resources, shipping more than 11.5 million meals, 12.6 million liters of water, 150 generators, and over 400,000 tarps to assist those in need.

Additionally, the Biden administration has allocated over $45 million in Individual Assistance to support thousands of survivors grappling with the storm’s aftermath. Disaster assistance is currently available for residents in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, underscoring the administration’s commitment to swift recovery efforts in the face of natural disasters.
As Hurricane Helene approaches, the focus remains on ensuring the safety and well-being of all affected communities.
