As China’s celebrated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic, an impressive roster of world leaders reached out to Chinese President Xi Jinping with messages of congratulations, underscoring the nation’s significant role in global politics, security, and development.

Among the congratulatory notes were warm messages from leaders across Central Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, each reflecting on their countries’ deepening ties with China. This diplomatic exchange highlights China’s expanding influence, particularly among nations prioritizing long-term, strategic cooperation.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was one of the first to recognize China’s leadership on the world stage, remarking on its contributions to global stability and sustainable development. “China has made great contributions to promoting global sustainable development and safeguarding security and stability,” Tokayev said, reaffirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to a permanent, comprehensive strategic partnership with its neighbor.

Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon echoed similar sentiments, calling the expansion of the strategic partnership between his country and China a priority for Tajikistan’s foreign policy. Rahmon emphasized Tajikistan’s eagerness to elevate their already strong ties, stating his intent to push the relationship “to a higher level.”

The relationship between China and Turkmenistan, another key Central Asian state, was also celebrated. Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed their belief in the enduring nature of their good-neighborly relations, stating their mutual trust “has stood the test of time.”

Leaders from Uzbekistan and Belarus, nations which have also aligned their development strategies with China, praised their partnerships. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev called China a “reliable cooperative partner that has withstood the test of time” and credited the relationship for injecting “new impetus into Uzbekistan’s development and mutually beneficial regional cooperation.” Meanwhile, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko remarked that the friendship between the two nations is “as solid as a rock.”

The reach of China’s diplomatic ties was also on full display as leaders from the Middle East expressed their congratulations. Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud both emphasized their willingness to deepen cooperation across various sectors. King Salman noted Saudi Arabia’s appreciation for its “good relations with China,” which he hopes to expand further.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also praised China’s stance on international justice, stating that the nation “upholds justice” and is relied upon by countries defending their independence. Assad pointed out that China is a nation that stands by countries “that have suffered from hegemonism.”

These messages of congratulations reflect China’s central position on the global stage and its successful efforts in strengthening bilateral relations across diverse regions. As China marks its 75th anniversary, the warm sentiments from world leaders indicate its far-reaching influence and the significant role it continues to play in shaping international relations.
