Africa’s Strategic Vision Essential in the Evolving Global Architecture — Mayor Malick-Lowe

The Mayor of Banjul, Rohey Malik-Lowe, has expressed pride and gratitude after being invited to speak at the prestigious Global World Public Assembly in Moscow.
“It is an immense honour and a profound delight to have been invited as Speaker at the prestigious Global World Public Assembly here in Moscow,” Mayor Lowe said, acknowledging the significance of the platform.
She extended appreciation to the organizers, adding: “My deepest gratitude to the Secretary-General and the Chairman for their kind invitation and for their visionary work in convening this powerful gathering. Putting ‘Africa’s Strategic Vision in the Evolving Global Architecture’ at the center of the global discussion is not just important — it is essential.”
In her remarks, Lowe stressed Africa’s role in the changing world order: “The world is witnessing a definitive shift towards a multipolar order. In this new global restructuring, Africa must not be a passive observer. Our position is one of active, strategic engagement and leadership.”
She also called for reforms in international governance. “We are advocating for a reformed multilateral system — one that is truly representative, equitable, and reflects the realities of today, not the outdated dynamics of the past,” she declared.
To strengthen collaboration, Mayor Lowe revealed she had signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of the Network of Locally Elected Women of Africa (REFELA) with the World Public Assembly. “This is a step forward for our shared goals and for the voice of African cities on the world stage,” she noted.
She concluded with optimism: “Onwards and upwards for Banjul, for The Gambia, and for Africa!”
