Gibson Re-Elected as BP President, Vows to Deepen Progress Across Bronx

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has been re-elected for another term, reaffirming her leadership in one of New York City’s most dynamic boroughs.
In a statement following her victory, Gibson expressed gratitude to Bronx residents for their continued trust, describing her re-election as both “humbling and an honor.”
“Over the last four years, we’ve made remarkable progress together,” she said, highlighting key achievements that have defined her administration.
Among her major milestones, Gibson cited the rebirth of the Kingsbridge Armory, a historic development project driving unprecedented investment into the borough. She also underscored strides in affordable housing, noting the expansion of developments aimed at fostering “dignity and stability for Bronx residents.”
Education and environmental sustainability have also been central to her agenda. Gibson pointed to increased funding for programs like the STEAM Center, which empowers local students with competitive learning opportunities. She further mentioned environmental initiatives such as tree planting and public health efforts like the Health Bucks program to promote affordable, healthy eating.
Her administration also produced the Bronx Birthing Center Report, outlining a strategic framework for improving maternal health outcomes across the borough.
While celebrating past successes, Gibson emphasized that her work is far from done. “We’re just getting started,” she declared, pledging to continue leading with “vision and purpose” for the more than 1.5 million Bronx residents she represents.
She concluded by thanking her Borough Hall team for their commitment and passion, crediting their work with helping to “build a brighter, more vibrant future for every Bronx resident.”
