I’ll Retire When I Stop Enjoying Football – Lionel Messi

Argentine football legend Lionel Messi has once again spoken about his future in football, saying he will only retire when he no longer enjoys playing or feels physically unable to continue.
In a recent interview shared by AlbicelesteTalk on X, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner revealed that his decision to hang up his boots will depend entirely on his passion and physical condition.
“As long as I can still play and feel good physically, I’ll continue doing things the same way—trying to compete, to win, to give my best,” Messi said. “The moment I feel I’m not physically able, that it’s hard for me on the pitch or that I’m no longer enjoying it, then that will be the moment to stop. But today I enjoy it, I feel good, and that’s where we are.”
Currently playing for Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer (MLS), Messi continues to impress with his performances and leadership, even at 38 years old.
Fans across the globe have welcomed his comments, expressing relief that the football icon still finds joy in the game that has defined his illustrious career.
Messi remains a timeless symbol of excellence, endurance, and passion—continuing to inspire millions with his unwavering love for football.
