Russian forces carried out continued airstrikes on Ukrainian ports, causing casualties and extensive damage to residential and commercial properties. The attacks on Mykolaiv and Odesa have raised international concern, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemning the acts of terror and urging the world to hold Russia accountable for its actions.

On the third night of air raids, Mykolaiv, a strategic port city, witnessed a devastating Russian air attack that left at least 18 people wounded. According to regional governor Vitaliy Kim, a three-story residential building in the city center took a direct hit, with five children among the injured. Emergency services promptly responded to the scene, but the full extent of the injuries is yet to be disclosed. Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych reported that several other residential high-rise buildings and garages were also damaged in the attack.

In the Odesa region, the situation was equally grim, as Russian missiles targeted the city of Odesa and its outskirts. Ukraine’s air force issued a warning on Telegram, alerting citizens about the launch of supersonic missiles towards the region. As a precautionary measure, people were urged to seek shelter. As a result of the attack on Odesa city, two people were hospitalized, and a building was severely damaged, causing a fire, according to Odesa administration spokesperson Serhiy Bratchuk.

President Zelenskyy condemned the relentless assault, expressing concern about the dire consequences it could have on the global food supply chain. Zelenskyy stated that the attacked ports had a significant stockpile of food, which was meant for delivery to African and Asian countries. The disruption caused by the airstrikes could have far-reaching implications for food distribution and affect people worldwide.

Even the Russian-controlled Crimea did not escape the violence, as reports emerged of a Ukrainian drone attack in the region. Governor Sergei Aksyonov confirmed that the attack caused damage to administrative buildings and tragically resulted in the death of a teenage girl.

The situation remains highly volatile, and these attacks have intensified the international community’s apprehensions about Russia’s actions. With innocent lives lost, critical infrastructure damaged, and food supplies at risk, calls for justice and accountability echo worldwide. The focus now lies on finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict and ensuring the safety and security of civilians caught in the crossfire.
