The New York Muslim community has announced the death of Imam Ayub Abdul Baki, a revered spiritual leader known for his dedication to faith and community. Imam Baki’s passing on August 22, 2023, at Jamaica Hospital in Queens has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him.

Imam Shamsi conveyed the news with the popular traditional Islamic obituary alert, “innaa lillahi wa inaa ilayhi roji’un,” as he informed the community of Imam Baki’s departure. The announcement prompted an outpouring of condolences and prayers from community members.
