Patriotic balanced journalism is key to attaining universal peace – NYP boss
The Editor-in-Chief of the New York-based media outlet, New York Parrot, and CEO of the Muslim Media Corporation, Mutiu Olawuyi, has said that patriotic balanced journalism is key to attaining universal peace.
This was disclosed at the International Peace Summit with the theme “THE PATH TO SUSTAINABLE PEACE BUILDING: The Fact, The Fallacy, The Fantacy and The Way Forward”.
The submit, which was organized by Youth Crisis Awareness and Peace Forum was attended by people across the world.
Four professional speakers from different parts of the world were brought in to discuss universal peace at the virtual summit held between September 21 and 22, 2020.
While speaking at the summit, Mutiu Olawuyi, the CEO of Muslim Media Corporation and Chief Editor of New York Parrot, Parkchester Times and MCR, explained the power of information and media in peace building and conflict resolution.
Olawuyi noted that “Without youth involvement in governance, no society can enjoy peace.”
He added that the youth understand the language of people who are constantly involved in violence.
He further stressed that mass orientation of the public could also aid in reducing violence dramatically in our society.
He admonished the media practitioners “to embrace patriotic journalistic operations rather than the destructive journalism they’re used to.”
Every session of the summit carried questions from audience, which all the speakers answered to the understanding of all.
