Emirates Airline offers Covid-19 vaccines to employees
Emirates Airline has begun offering employees vaccinations against the COVID-19 disease with priority given to front-line workers such as cabin crew and pilots.
While disclosing this in a statement on Monday January 18, 2021, it said, “The inoculation drive began in the morning, with priority being placed on its frontline aviation workforce, including cabin crew, flight deck and other operationally focused roles.”
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and another developed by China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) are being made available to all employees in the United Arab Emirates.
Both vaccines are already available to the general public in the UAE with priority given to certain groups.
Emirates Group, which employs about 80,000 staff globally, also counts airport and travel services provider dnata among its assets, along with the state carrier.
Operations to inoculate staff will run for 12 hours a day, seven days a week, “to ensure as many essential aviation workers as possible can get the vaccine”, the airline said.
