Pierre Gooding has officially entered the race to replace Bill Perkins as Harlem’s next City Councilor.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Friday January 1, 2021.
“Gooding has stayed active since his first City Council bid in 2017,” the statement reads.
“Gooding has continued to serve those in need by helping to operate two homeless shelters (Harlem, Queens) and bringing home 800 American-Ghanaians marooned in Ghana for months due to closed borders.
“He also put Republican State Senate candidate Jon Girodes in jail for operating a rent scam,” the statement says.
It adds that Gooding serves as an Attorney for Harlemites and small businesses and is a Deacon at Rendall Memorial Presbyterian Church.
“He is a former English as a Second Language teacher at I.S.143m Eleanor Roosevelt JHS. Gooding’s donation link can be found here,” the statement adds.
