Turkish, Jewish communities in USA form alliance to promote bilateral relations
The Turkish and Jewish communities in the United States have formed an alliance that is aimed at promoting strong bilateral relations.
This was disclosed in a declaration signed on Tuesday September 21, 2021, by the Joint Declaration Turkish American National Steering Committee and Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce.
According to the declaration, the joint effort is also aimed at fighting anti-Semitism, anti-Turkish, and Islamophobia.
“The Turkish-Jewish alliance will also work to improve relations and trade among the US, Israel, and Turkey and while opposing BDS promoted mostly by racist radicals and hate merchants, the declaration reads.
TASC and OJC agreed to form an alliance based on shared values and solidarity in diversity and to cooperate for the common good of Turkish Americans and Jewish Americans.
They also agreed to support relations between the United States of America and Turkey and Israel.
“TASC and OJC, therefore, agree to strengthen relations between respective heritage communities through programs designed to enhance cultural, religious, educational and social exchanges.”
They will oppose all forms of prejudice and hatred, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and anti-Turkish, and build person-to-person relations based on mutual appreciation and respect beyond mere
tolerance.
“The relationship will encourage and promote trade and commerce between the United States, Israel and
Turkey, because prosperity strengthens democracy, human rights, and the quality of life for all people.
“It will oppose Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions that target Israel and/or Turkey because BDS embolden extremism and harms the people which BDS movements claim to represent,” it adds.
“The relationship will support regional peace, prosperity, and security through such initiatives as the Abraham Accords, and oppose all form of radicalism, violent extremism and terrorism that targets America, Israel, and Turkey,” the document concludes.
