After canceling the event two years in a row — and for the first time since World War II — the 122-year-old New York International Auto Show is making its return to Javits Center this week.

Mark Schienberg, president of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, discussed the show’s return.

Schienberg, whose organization runs the weeklong exhibition, previewed a new feature.

The New feature of the show allows visitors to test drive cars inside the Javits Center and discussed the developments in the electric vehicle industry.

“There’s just been a seismic shift in what’s happening in the auto industry. Really electric vehicles have taken center stage,” Scheinberg said.

“The number one selling pickup truck, the Ford F-150, Ford has announced it will go full electric by the year 2030. It’s an amazing commitment. Billions of dollars of research.”
