New York City has disclosed a plan to compensate people arrested in 2020 George Floyd protest.
According to a report, hundreds of people rallied in Mott Haven to protest police brutality following the death of George Floyd.
Those arrested are set to receive financial compensation, according to authorities.
Not less than 320 nonviolent protesters who took part in June 2020 are set to receive awards of over $20,000 each.
A federal court has ruled that New York City must pay millions to the protestors who were subject to force from NYPD officers.
“Under the class action terms, each eligible member will be awarded at least $21,500.
“The city will also pay out more than $2.5 million in attorney fees,” NYC authorities disclosed.
