New York City Mayor Eric Adams has issued a statement in response to the jury’s verdict in the trial of former President Donald Trump.

Emphasizing the importance of respecting the judicial process, Mayor Adams highlighted the role of the jury and assured New Yorkers of the city’s readiness to handle any potential reactions.

“Today, a jury of 12 New Yorkers registered their verdict,” Mayor Adams stated. “Our criminal justice process must be respected. As we await the next steps, New Yorkers should rest assured that the NYPD stands ready to respond to any and all circumstances, including large-scale protests. While peaceful protests and assembly will always be protected, we will not be a city of any form of lawlessness.”

Mayor Adams’ comments underscore the city’s commitment to maintaining order while upholding the rights of individuals to engage in peaceful protest.

His assurance of the NYPD’s preparedness aims to instill confidence in the city’s ability to manage public safety amid potential unrest following the high-profile trial.
