Jamaica Muslim Center fixes date for Eid Ul-Fitr Prayer

Jamaica Muslim Center has fixed a date for the observance of its ywar 2021 Eid ul-Fitr prayer.

While disclosing this in a statement on Thursday May 6, 2021, Imam Shamsi Ali stated that the planned outdoor prayer would hold on The Field of Thomas A. Edison High School (165-65 84th Ave) on Grand Central at 9:00 am, inshaAllah.

According to the statement, Eid ul-Fitr will be either on Wednesday May 12, or on Thursday May 13th, depending on moonsighting.

“In case weather does not permit, Eid Salah will be held at Jamaica Muslim Center, and the first jamaat will be at 7:30 AM, while the second jamaat will be 8:30 AM, and the third jamaat will be 9:30 am,” the statement reads.

Imam Shamsi enjoined Muslims to take wudhu at home, wear mask, and bring personal prayer mats (sajaadah).

“Avoid crowding and hand shaking as much as you can,” he said.
