Council Member, representing 14th District, Fernando Cabrera, has condemned the killing of three people in Times Square on Saturday May 8, 2021.

According to the statement signed by the councilman, three people, including a child, were shot in Times Square on Saturday afternoon.

“Moments after the triple shooting, dozens of people could be seen running through Times Square, including an NYPD officer carrying a young child, believed to be one of the victims, the statement reads.

“I am deeply troubled by the up tick of gun violence on our city streets. Today’s shooting in Times Square where 3 were shot including a 4-year-old girl is completely unacceptable and those that fired the shots must be brought to justice immediately.

“I stand ready to assist in anyway possible because we cannot live our lives under acts of fear and intimidation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families.” said Council member Fernando Cabrera.
