City calls for volunteers amid Public Safety Declaration

New York City has announced a call for volunteers for its Public Safety Declaration pledge.

The Public Safety Declaration, according to a statement released by City Hall official, is a pledge bound to enhance our city’s safety and the quality of life for all.

The statement reads in part: “We’re beyond grateful for what we have achieved today. Over 50 leaders from different backgrounds and boroughs had converged on the steps of City Hall this afternoon to make the historic Public Safety Declaration which is bound to enhance our city’s safety and the quality of life for all. We would like to express our profound appreciation to all the leaders who made it there and the ones who had genuine commitment to be there but couldn’t.”

Expanding on the pillars of the pledge, the statement asserts that “The Public Safety Declaration consists of two pillars: Citywide ratings on elected officials by their constituents and the NYC WolfPack which removes walls and barriers that prevent us from working together to achieve our common objectives and mutual benefits.”

On the need for volunteers, “From April 1st to June 1st, Public Safety Declaration volunteers will canvas all the 51 Council Districts to have the Public Safety Declaration survey filled out by at least 300 constituents in each district.

“The results of these surveys will help voters to be more informed of their incumbents’ competence or incompetence before the June 27 primary.

“We can’t be doing the same thing and expect different outcomes. The Public Safety Declaration shall help reconciles and harmonizes constituents needs and their elected representatives positions on issues. It also calls for working together as a united front to common objectives.

“To survey of all the 51 council districts is a big task but easily achievable with enough of committed volunteers. Those who are concerned about the deteriorating public safety in our city as we are, please sign up to volunteer for these surveys.”
