Grandmother stabs 7-year-old granddaughter multiple times inside Bronx home

A grandmother has reportedly stabbed her 7-year-old granddaughter multiple times inside a Bronx home.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) disclosed this in a report on Saturday March 4, 2023.

According to the police report, the 7-year-old girl is in critical but stable condition after being stabbed multiple times by her grandmother on Tuesday morning.

The police reported that the incident took place at around 8 a.m. at 1317 Clinton Avenue.

“When officers arrived on scene, they found the little girl on her bed stabbed multiple times in the back, neck, and stomach,” NYPD said.

The police added that the victim was rushed to New York Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where she is fighting for her life.

“You go to your family because they’re supposed to protect you…especially grandmas,” said William, who is a resident in the Morrisania neighborhood where the stabbing took place.

The girl’s grandmother is in custody at St. Barnabas Hospital, where she will undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

“No charges have been filed at this time,” NYPD stated.
