Detectives have apprehended a Bronx man accused of brutally killing and dismembering his roommate, leaving several body parts burning in a shopping cart beneath a Yonkers Metro-North train station.

Muhammad Aadil, 40, now faces a murder charge in connection with the alleged slaying of Lutalo Henderson, whose remains were found in their shared South Bronx apartment in early August.

According to authorities, Aadil and another suspect are believed to have dismembered Henderson’s body in their apartment before transporting several body parts on a Metro-North train to Yonkers. Aadil was charged in Henderson’s death on Friday morning after being spotted in the Bronx, despite having an outstanding arrest warrant and having already been indicted.

When officers took Aadil into custody, they reportedly found a significant quantity of drugs in his possession, adding to the severity of the situation.

Investigators who entered the South Bronx apartment made gruesome discoveries, including Henderson’s severed hands submerged in bleach inside a crock pot, as well as his teeth scattered throughout the premises.

A trash bag found in the freezer contained at least one human leg, suggesting a systematic effort to dispose of evidence.

Retired NYPD Chief Terry Monahan commented on the chilling nature of the dismemberment, stating, “The reason anyone would take out teeth, hands and feet from an individual is to prevent identification. Once you remove the hands, you no longer can check fingerprints. You take off the teeth, you can’t check dental records to see who the individual is.”

As of now, the specific circumstances surrounding Henderson’s death remain unclear, with the cause of death listed only as “homicidal violence.” Additionally, authorities discovered a handgun, along with heroin and cocaine, in the bedroom of the apartment, which was known to be a drug hotspot where individuals could purchase and consume narcotics.

Aadil managed to evade capture for six weeks following the discovery of the body parts before finally being arrested. His arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court was pending as of Friday, while his accomplice remains at large, leaving the investigation ongoing.
