Mayor Adams to unveil 2025 vision at Apollo State of city address

New York City Mayor Eric Adams will deliver his fourth State of the City address at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem. The mayor’s speech will focus on the administration’s strides over the past three years and its continued efforts to make New York City safer and more affordable for working-class families.

“Whether it’s taking thousands of illegal guns off our streets, shattering affordable housing records over and over again, or putting billions of dollars back into the pockets of New Yorkers, our administration has fought every day to create a safer, more affordable city for working-class New Yorkers,” said Mayor Adams. “Thanks to our efforts, New York City is not only back; we are better than ever.”

Looking ahead, Mayor Adams emphasized the need for ongoing action. “As we look to the future, we know there is even more we can do to uplift working-class families across the five boroughs, protect our streets and subways, tackle the cost of rent, create more housing, and put even more money back into New Yorkers’ pockets. On January 9, at the historic Apollo, we’ll present our vision for an even safer and more affordable New York City in both 2025 and in the decades to come.”

The event will take place at 12:00 PM and will be invitation-only due to limited capacity. Accredited members of the media must RSVP via the designated form by 5:00 PM on Friday, January 3. Confirmation emails will be sent to those granted access by Tuesday, January 7.

For those unable to attend in person, the address will be streamed online and broadcast via Encompass Port CTY-3653. Video cameras will be restricted in the auditorium, but a live satellite feed and limited post-event access for interviews will be available. Further details will be shared closer to the date.
