A mass shooting outside the Amazura nightclub in Queens, New York, left 10 people injured late Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. near the Jamaica-based venue, where about 80 people were gathered for a private event honoring a deceased gang member.

According to the NYPD, none of the victims are critically injured, and all are expected to recover. “We are fortunate that none of the injuries appear life-threatening,” said an NYPD spokesperson. The victims were transported to Long Island Jewish Hospital and Cohen’s Children Medical Center for treatment.

Eyewitnesses described the chaos outside the club as gunfire erupted. “People were running everywhere; it was terrifying,” said one attendee. Social media posts showed a heavy police presence and ambulances surrounding the scene. Authorities have not released details on the shooter or a potential motive.

The shooting coincides with other high-profile acts of violence across the U.S. On New Year’s Day in New Orleans, Shamsud Din Jabbar, a U.S. Army veteran carrying an ISIS flag, drove his truck into a crowd, killing 15 and injuring dozens before being fatally shot by police. “This was an act of terrorism,” confirmed law enforcement officials.

Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside US President-Elect Donald Trump’s hotel, killing one person. The truck reportedly contained fireworks, gas tanks, and camp fuel. President Joe Biden addressed both incidents, saying, “Law enforcement is investigating any possible connection between these events, including whether the vehicles used were linked.” Both the New Orleans attacker’s truck and the Cybertruck were reportedly rented from the same platform, Turo.

As investigations continue, questions remain over public safety and the potential connections between these violent events. “This country is facing a serious crisis of violence,” said a local Queens resident. “It feels like no place is safe anymore.”
