New York Faith Leaders Announce “Unbreakable Bond” Tour to Holy Land

A coalition of New York faith, civic, and community leaders is set to embark on an “Unbreakable Bond” tour of the Holy Land, sponsored by Sharaka, on Friday, October 24, 2025, in a move organizers say is aimed at countering rising antisemitism and reaffirming solidarity with Israel and the Jewish community.
The initiative, led by Sheikh Musa Drammeh, emerged in the aftermath of the recent New York mayoral debate, following remarks attributed to Democratic Socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani regarding Israel and his support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Organizers said Mamdani’s statements, including social media posts described as misleading, reinforced the urgency of promoting unity and shared values.
According to Drammeh, the tour will highlight the longstanding relationship between New York and the Holy Land — a bond he said is rooted in faith, freedom, and human dignity. He stressed that the effort is not politically driven but focused on peace, friendship, and interfaith understanding.
The journey is expected to be the first of several future pilgrimages involving leaders from diverse religious communities including Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Drammeh said invitations will also be extended to New York’s top elected officials to join forthcoming missions that he believes will demonstrate that unity and decency are stronger than hate.
