Vanessa L. Gibson raises $70,000 plus for Campaign Filing in Bronx
Bronx Borough President candidate Vanessa L. Gibson has announced a total contribution of $72,380 raised from 567 contributors for Campaign Filling in January 2021.
While announcing this on Friday January 15, 2021, Gibson stated that contributions include an estimated $33,096 in funds matchable by the city’s campaign finance program.
According to Gibson, the contributions to the campaign come from 743 donors, including 296 from the Bronx, for a total of $92,812.
“When I announced our campaign, I made diversity and inclusion of Bronxites from all over the borough a priority, so that we can take on the challenges we face together. This filing reflects the positive reception we have received for our #ForwardTogetherBronx message.
“I’m proud of the incredible outpouring of support I’ve received from residents and leaders since I announced my candidacy for Bronx Borough President, and I look forward to talking to Bronx voters about our record of accomplishments, our vision for the future of the Bronx and how we tackle the challenges faced together,” said Gibson.
In her campaign for Borough President, Gibson is focused on recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing new jobs and opportunities to the borough, getting Bronxites back to work, addressing food insecurity, education, affordable housing, health disparities, small business support, economic development, mass transit/transportation, environmental justice and services for youth and older residents.
Gibson was first elected to the State Assembly in 2009 and the City Council in 2013, where she currently serves. While in the City Council, she has focused on affordable housing, education, economic development, healthcare and criminal justice reform.
She is currently Deputy Leader, Chair of the Committee on Oversight and Investigations, a Member of the Budget and Negotiating Team and Co-Chair of the Women’s Caucus.
She announced her candidacy for Bronx Borough President in December.
