Congratulations to the 21st Century Black Mayor of NYC Eric Adams – Dr. George Onuorah
Dear Eric Adams:
Congratulations to the 21st Century black mayor of New York City. Your election is welcome news and surely remain an inspiration to many of us for generations to come.
Please allow me to use this ample opportunity to formerly congratulate you on a gallant victory. Winning a much-coveted price with mandate to govern the greatest city in the world, New York City, or “Big Apple” even “City that never sleeps” as some refer to our mega city especially with a mini-world the United Nations as one of her landmarks.
As I commend and congratulate you on this remarkable victory, I pledge my support and stand ready to help in any way possible to move our dear city forward. As always, our diversity remains our strength and together we rise.
New York City being a microcosm of the world with renowned edifice United Nations you are for all intents and purposes mayor of the world. As our newly-minted 21st Century African-American mayor, the first being late mayor David Dinkins 1990-1993, you came at this post-Covid Era not just for NY City but to preside over mini-world, to bring about unity of the world people through diversity. Our “unity in diversity” was evidenced by the unequivocal support provided by the gorgeous mosaic of diverse electorate who embraced the can-do agenda you enunciated for the betterment of all and many struggling to make after the devastation caused by last year unexpected covid-19 pandemic.
Thankfully, a broad spectrum of NYC residents, Democrats, Republicans and Independents embraced your centrist agenda inclusive of public safety of your campaign. Now is time for all hands to be on deck to help your administration advance agenda of post-pandemic recovery that will move New York City forward. Introspectively, defunding the police instead of refunding them will lead our City to the abyss political cataclysm. Unity in Service will be best rallying cry for all to join hands in solidarity not only to keep us safe but empower the vulnerable with the type of assistance needed to restore the economic viability of our city.
As you continually stated “Public safety is a prerequisite to prosperity.” Supporting NYPD means less crimes, less mugging, decreased shooting and killings. We need a safe city to attract tourist to “City that never sleeps.” But yielding to anti-police politics and reforms that will adversely impact tourism and hurt business growth will put the city we love on a path of retrogression instead of progression. Let’s push for “One New York” under a shared singular purpose.
As a candidate you won the heart of New Yorkers by stressing the importance of ideologically centrist and compassionate vision – public safety, empathy for the homelessness and care for the mentally challenged etc. A safe city will attract tourism and much needed revenue to help small businesses continue to recover. As we all know, some still fear traveling by mass transit scared about the epidermic of crime often reported in the media. No doubt your “Subway Safety Plan” will address such phobia and with better training and deployment of police deterrent can be achieved.
As a former candidate for New York City Council in June 22 Democratic party contest I know we all share a common vision for a better city. So together with our Queens district victor Councilmember Francisco Moya, I offer my congratulation. As candidates we competed fiercely, but must now come together to work for the common good of community and NYC. As mayor of the greatest city we all can work assiduously to build an economically vibrant city.
Finally, I want to commend the grassroot activism of our immigrant community inclusive of those of African, Latino, Asian etc. who volunteered, campaigned, fundraised and emersed to help achieve victory. Particularly renowned activist Sheikh Musa Drammah for relentlessly galvanizing under the banner of New York Political Coalition agenda.
Excuse but we all must stop to come ou with the label Colourism to designate the new elect (Black)Mayor in order to pacify and unify all souls and minds of NYC
PEACE 🕊️ UNITY
