The Gambia Police Force has announced the release of vehicles for public use to ease movement as the country’s transport union embarks on strike.

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday September 11, 2022.

“The Gambia Police Force high command wishes to inform the general public that it will put some of the GPF fleet of vehicles out for public service on Monday 12th September 2022,” the statement reads.

According to the statement, the measure is being taken to assist commuters and other road users to move freely in the wake of the proposed strike by members of the Gambia Transport Union.

“In this regard, the Gambia police force buses will be deployed from Brikama to Banjul, while others will ply the traffic light-Gunjur stretch.
