Dubai Police have impounded 11 vehicles identified as sources of significant noise and disruption in residential areas. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic, announced that these vehicles were involved in reckless behavior, including illegal modifications and dangerous driving practices.
The police action comes as part of a broader initiative to curb chaos on Dubai’s roads. “The law penalises violators by impounding their vehicles and pursuing legal action,” Al Mazrouei stated, emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach towards such disturbances. The recent Decree No. 30 of 2023 further empowers law enforcement to impose fines up to Dhs50,000 on reckless drivers, highlighting the seriousness of the issue.
The violations encompassed a range of disruptive activities, from unauthorized rallies and reckless driving to littering and creating excessive noise. Al Mazrouei reiterated that these behaviors not only endanger the lives of drivers but also compromise the safety of all road users.
In light of these developments, Al Mazrouei urged motorists to exercise caution, warning that the law holds individuals accountable for endangering themselves and others. He reassured the public that police officers will be vigilant in taking necessary actions against offenders to safeguard the community.
Residents are encouraged to report any observed infractions via the “Police Eye” feature in the Dubai Police app or by calling the “We Are All Police” service at 901, fostering a collaborative approach to road safety.
