Pakistani armed forces have reportedly abducted four more individuals in Balochistan, sparking renewed outcry over enforced disappearances in the troubled region.
According to The Balochistan Post, Nusratullah, son of Sardar Liaquat, and Muhammad Hassan, son of Munshi Abdullah, were taken from Kharan’s Kalan area. Munir, son of Assa, was detained in Gwadar, while Nouroz, son of Muhammad Islam, was taken after a raid in Hub Chowki. Nouroz has been abducted twice before.
The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) condemned the disappearances, stating, *“This continuous targeting of civilians shows the state’s intent to silence Baloch voices.”
The VBMP also reported the case of Hasil Khan, who was forcibly disappeared from Awaran. “These abductions leave families in anguish and communities living in fear,” a representative added.
Enforced disappearances, often attributed to security forces, are widespread in Balochistan, where political instability and calls for independence persist. Human rights groups accuse the Pakistani military of using these tactics to intimidate activists and suppress dissent.
