President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted on X that these included Iranian-made “Shahed” drones, which inflicted damage in Odessa, while many others were intercepted or lost from radar.
“Last night, Russia launched a record 145 Shaheds and other strike drones against Ukraine,” Zelenskyy wrote. He condemned the ongoing assaults: “Such terror cannot be stopped with words, and the killing of children and the loss of loved ones cannot simply be forgotten.”

As Ukrainian defenses engaged, Moscow’s Defense Ministry reported intercepting 70 Ukrainian drones, with 34 targeting the Moscow region. In Ramenskoye, one woman sustained burn injuries from falling drone debris, and fires damaged homes in multiple areas.
Ukrainian drone strikes near Moscow have grown increasingly damaging, recently igniting a fire at the Kapotnya refinery in September. Since Russia’s February 2022 invasion, Ukraine has faced frequent air raids, targeting critical infrastructure and highlighting the ongoing escalation of aerial warfare in the conflict.
