Mayor Adams denies deal-making allegations, pledges commitment to NYC

Mayor Eric Adams is pushing back against allegations that he attempted to negotiate an end to his case in exchange for political concessions, firmly denying any such deal was made.
“I want to be crystal clear with New Yorkers: I never offered — nor did anyone offer on my behalf — any trade of my authority as your mayor for an end to my case. Never,” Adams stated.
Reaffirming his dedication to the city, Adams emphasized that his sole responsibility is to the 8.3 million New Yorkers he represents.
“Now, we must put this difficult episode behind us so that trust can be restored, New York can move forward, and we can continue delivering for the people of this city,” he added.
While Adams aims to shift focus back to governance, the controversy underscores ongoing scrutiny surrounding his administration. Whether his statement quells concerns or invites further questions remains to be seen.
