Blumberg Fellowship opens applications for 2025–26 cohort, calls for new generation of Jewish civic leaders

The Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY) has officially opened applications for the 2025–26 Blumberg Fellowship for Jewish Community Relations, offering what leaders describe as one of the city’s premier civic leadership experiences for emerging Jewish changemakers.
Announced this week through a press release on JCRC-NY’s social platforms, the fellowship targets Jewish young professionals — generally ages 25 to 40 and above — who are driven by purpose, committed to community, and eager to lead in New York’s increasingly complex civic landscape.
According to JCRC-NY, the year-long fellowship will immerse participants in thought-provoking conversations, hands-on learning sessions, and exclusive site visits with civic, governmental, and community leaders across the city. The initiative focuses on equipping future leaders with the tools to become effective advocates, bridge-builders, and ambassadors for Jewish communal relations.
“Fellows will strengthen their leadership skills, build powerful networks, and gain practical insights into how New York’s civic systems operate,” the council highlighted in its announcement.
The program’s curriculum is designed to confront real-time challenges facing New York’s diverse communities — including rising antisemitism, interfaith tensions, policy inequities, and urban social issues — while fostering collaboration, dialogue, and shared responsibility across communities.
This fellowship has historically served as a pipeline for Jewish leaders who go on to play key roles in public service, nonprofit leadership, diplomacy, and grassroots civic work across the five boroughs.
Applications are due December 12, and interested candidates are encouraged to apply early due to the program’s competitive selection process.
