New Yorkers to Host Appreciation Dinner in Honor of Mayor Adams

A group of appreciative New Yorkers will on December 2, 2025, host an appreciation dinner in honor of the 110th Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, celebrating his public service, leadership, and contributions to the city.
Mayor Adams, a Brooklyn-born New Yorker, has spent decades in public service, beginning with a 22-year career in the New York Police Department, where he retired as a captain. His transition into politics marked a steady rise through leadership roles, including serving as a New York State Senator and later as Brooklyn Borough President, before becoming Mayor of New York City.
Supporters describe Mayor Adams as a resilient leader who has consistently turned personal and professional challenges into opportunities for greater service. They note that his ability to stay focused amid adversity has shaped his tenure and strengthened his connection with communities across the city.
As the second African American to serve as mayor in New York City’s history, Adams made a symbolic return to Africa before assuming office, honoring his heritage and ancestral struggles. That historic journey has since led to the recognition of December 2 as “Transatlantic Family Reunification Day.”
The appreciation dinner will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dreiser Loop Community Center, located at 177 Dreiser Loop, Co-op City, New York. Organizers say the event is open to all who wish to celebrate the mayor’s achievements and continued service to New Yorkers.
