Trump escalates attacks, calls Harris ‘mentally impaired’

Donald Trump has intensified his personal attacks on Democratic rival Kamala Harris, calling her “mentally impaired” and demanding she be “impeached and prosecuted” during a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Trump claimed Harris was responsible for an “invasion” at the U.S.-Mexico border, repeating insults he has used in the past, such as calling her “stupid,” “lazy,” and “dumb as a rock.”
“Crooked Joe Biden became mentally impaired. Sad. But lying Kamala Harris, honestly, I believe she was born that way,” Trump told his supporters, continuing, “There’s something wrong with Kamala. And I just don’t know what it is, but there is definitely something missing.”
While some Republicans have urged Trump to focus on policy issues, such as the economy and immigration, Trump continues to favor personal attacks. Senator Lindsey Graham suggested Trump should “prosecute the case” against Harris’s policies instead, labeling them “crazy liberal.”
Trump’s rally comments come as he faces his own legal challenges, including convictions and pending cases related to the January 6th insurrection and efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss. Despite his ongoing legal woes, Trump argued on Sunday that prosecutors are targeting him for political reasons, a claim with no supporting evidence.
Harris has largely refrained from responding directly, previously dismissing such attacks as “the same tired playbook” from Trump.
