Dangote Refinery has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N990 per litre to N970 per litre, offering relief to Nigerians ahead of the festive season.
Announcing the price adjustment on Sunday, the company said the move was part of its commitment to appreciating Nigerians and supporting the administration of President Bola Tinubu. “Dangote Petroleum Refinery has effected a reduction in the prevailing price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N990/litre to N970/litre for the marketers,” said Anthony Chiejina, the refinery’s chief branding and communications officer.
“As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true,” the statement added. The company also thanked the government for its role in facilitating the actualisation of its 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery, which it described as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s domestic energy industry.
In addition to the price reduction, Dangote Refinery pledged to sustain efforts to meet domestic fuel demand and avoid shortages. “We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption, thus dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply,” the company assured.
The refinery also highlighted its commitment to producing high-quality, environmentally friendly fuel, aligning with global standards for sustainability.
The reduction is expected to provide some relief to Nigerians grappling with rising fuel costs and comes as a symbolic gesture of goodwill during the Christmas season.
