Iran: Industry minister Mohammad Atabak involved in car accident, escapes major injury
Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Mohammad Atabak, was involved in a car accident early Thursday morning near Karaj, resulting in the cancellation of his planned trip to Kordestan.
Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Mohammad Atabak, was involved in a car accident early Thursday morning near Karaj, resulting in the cancellation of his planned trip to Kordestan. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. as Atabak was en route to the western province for an official visit.

Atabak, who sustained minor injuries, was immediately taken to a hospital in Karaj. According to the director of the internal affairs at Aaram Hospital, “The minister suffered a minor surface injury and is in good health condition.” The minister’s condition was later confirmed by IRNA news agency, quoting an official with the ministry: “No serious injuries occurred to the minister or his companions.”
Despite the setback, Atabak’s advisors and experts remain in Kordestan to continue with scheduled visits and meetings. The minister had planned to inspect several industrial and construction projects in the cities of Qorveh and Bijar, as well as hold discussions with local business leaders.
