President-elect Donald Trump unveiled a wave of high-profile appointments over the weekend, rounding out his economic, healthcare, and national security teams ahead of his second term.

Among the notable picks is hedge fund manager Scott Bessent as Treasury secretary, poised to play a central role in Trump’s promised tax cuts and trade policies.

“On the eve of our great country’s 250th anniversary, he will help me usher in a new Golden Age for the United States,” Trump said of Bessent, who would become the highest-ranking LGBTQ official in U.S. history.

Other appointments include Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer as labor secretary, Janette Nesheiwat as surgeon general, and Brooke Rollins as agriculture secretary. Trump also tapped Russell Vought, architect of the conservative *Project 2025*, as White House budget director.

On national security, Trump brought back loyalist Sebastian Gorka and named Alex Wong as principal deputy national security adviser.

The appointments showcase Trump’s blend of experienced officials and loyalists, setting the stage for a second term focused on economic growth, deregulation, and his America First agenda.
