In a nail-biting race for the White House, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican former president Donald Trump are closely vying for the presidency as results continue to pour in. Early Wednesday, US media reports indicate Trump leads with 243 electoral votes, while Harris holds 194.

Media projections have attributed Trump’s lead to his victories in 24 states, notably including Texas, Ohio, and critical battlegrounds like Georgia and North Carolina. Harris has clinched 15 states, securing major prizes California and New York, as well as Washington, D.C.

With 270 electoral votes needed to win, both candidates are heavily focused on pivotal states where votes are still being counted. Observers say the presidency will likely hinge on a few remaining battlegrounds.
