Yemen’s armed forces launched a coordinated naval, drone, and missile assault on the U.S. aircraft carrier Truman and its escorting warships in the northern Red Sea, the group announced Thursday.

The operation came in response to a wave of U.S. airstrikes on Yemeni territory, including Sanaa and Saada, which reportedly resulted in civilian casualties. “By the grace of God Almighty, this operation was carried out successfully, and part of the aggressive attack was neutralized,” the Yemeni armed forces stated.

The group emphasized that it will continue targeting perceived threats in the region and reiterated its support for the Palestinian people. “Targeting threats in the region will continue, and support for the Palestinian people will remain in place until the aggression and siege of Gaza are fully stopped,” the statement added.

The strike underscores the growing volatility in the Red Sea, where Yemen’s forces have increasingly engaged U.S. and allied warships amid broader regional tensions.
