Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Ankara on Thursday with an official ceremony. The two leaders, who share a history of strong bilateral cooperation, met privately after the ceremony to discuss mutual interests and regional stability.

“The relationship between Türkiye and Qatar is built on trust and a shared vision for regional peace and prosperity,” Erdogan said during the meeting, highlighting the countries’ growing alliance.

Al Thani echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our partnership with Türkiye is one we highly value, as it supports not only our economies but our shared goals for security and development.”

Following their private discussions, Erdogan and Al Thani will co-chair the Türkiye-Qatar High Strategic Committee, a forum aimed at expanding cooperation across sectors including energy, defense, and trade.
