Civil activist Azam Ahoghalandar has been summoned to serve a sentence of 30 lashes and pay a fine, as per a recent notification from Iranian authorities.

The order requires Ahoghalandar to report to the sentence enforcement office within the next 10 days. This sentence, handed down by Branch 103 of Fardis Criminal Court 2 under Judge Amir Hajipour, stems from charges of “making tools for committing a crime.”

The case, which was heard in December 2024, is one of several legal battles Ahoghalandar faces. Last year, she was sentenced to nearly 15 years in prison alongside three other defendants on charges such as “forming and leading a group to disrupt national security” and “membership in security-disrupting groups.”

The four activists were arrested on September 16, 2023, the anniversary of Mahsa Zhina Amini’s death in custody. They were detained at Ahoghalandar’s home by security forces but were later released on bail.
