Nigerian Muslim cleric rejects politician’s car gift
Sheik Ahmad Abdul-Rahman, the Chief Missioner of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, has rejected a car gift from a Lagos politician, representing Mushin Constituency 2 in the state.
While rejecting the car presented to him at his residence on Thursday 30th January 2020, Imam Ahmad admonished the member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bolaji Yusuf Ayinla, to take care of the needy and less privileged in his constituency.
“I sincerely appreciate this kind gesture, but his gift is not for me. It can adequately take care of the poor in that constituency,” Imam Ahmad admonished.
The globally renowned scholar leveraged the avenue to preach humility and selflessness to the legislator and others in his shoes when reaching out to the less privileged in the society.
“Any act of selfless giving will be adequately rewarded by Almighty Allah,” he preached.
Sheik Ahmad expressed his gratitude to the lawmaker for extending such a gesture to him but politely tasked Hon. Bolaji Yusuf Ayinla to take care of the needy.
He therefore prayed for wisdom and good health for the political leaders in Nigeria.
