Councilman Cabrera condemns killing of NYPD member

The Council member, representing Council District 14, Fernando Cabrera, has condemned the killing of an NYPD member by an alleged drunk driver on Long Island Expressway.

Cabera expressed his condolences in a statement signed by his
Director of Communications and Legislative Affairs, Clark J. Pena, on Tuesday April 27, 2021.

The Council man said New York City was in mourning, following the killing of a Member of Service of the NYPD by an alleged drunk driver in the early morning hours on the Long Island Expressway.

According to the statement, the police officer, Anastasios Tsakos, who was assigned to Highway 3, was a father of two young children.

“Our deepest condolences go out to the family and the entire NYPD on this tragic loss,” Cabrera said in the statement.

“My Office stands at the ready to assist in anyway. This is not only a loss for the New York City Police Department but a loss to NYC and all New Yorkers,” he added.
