President Adama Barrow arrives Accra for 59th ECOWAS summit
President Adama Barrow has arrived in Accra, Ghana for the 59th ECOWAS Heads of State and Government Summit.
According to a report on Friday June 18, 2021, the president’s delegation include Honorable Seedy Keita, Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, Honorable Mamadou Tangara, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Honorable Sheikh Omar Faye, Minister of Defence.
Representatives of Gambians in Accra were also present at the airport to welcome the President.
“Upon arrival, President Barrow was briefed by the Gambian delegation who participated in various expert and ministerial meetings before the start of the Summit. The Summit will be held tomorrow at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra,” the report says.
It adds that the president met in a closed door bilateral meeting with his counterpart from Guinea Bissau, H.E. President Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
“He also held meetings with Gambians working and living in Ghana, including Gambian Military officers undergoing various training courses in Ghana,” the report says.
