Nigeria: Lawmaker donates e-libraries to schools within constituency

A Nigerian lawmaker, who represents Ifelodun/ Boripe/ Odo-Otin federal constituency in Osun State, Hon Rasheed Olalekan, has donated e-libraries to Akinorun, Oke-Iragbiji and Odo-Otin Grammar Schools.

While disclosing this in a statement signed by his media team on Wednesday March 9, 2022, the lawmaker explained that the initiative is aimed at boosting digital literacy and bringing knowledge closer to secondary school students in his constituency.

“In line with goal 4 of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs’) and to compliment the giant strides of His Excellency, Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the educational sector, Hon. Afolabi Olalekan (FCA) has facilitated all-in-one e-libraries to Akinorun Grammar School, Ikirun, Oke Iragbiji Grammar School, Iragbiji and Odo-Otin Grammar School, Okuku all in Ifelodun/ Boripe/ Odo-Otin Federal Constituency,” the statement read.

It added, “Each e-library is equipped with desktop computers, chairs, tables, generator, UPS, fans, internet installation and direct connection with Nigeria Communication Satelite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) for unhindered academic exploration around the world.”

While speaking on behalf of her colleagues, Mrs. T. F. Abidoye, the Principal of Akinorun Grammar School, Ikirun, eulogized Asoju Rere for giving them what they are seriously in need of.

She said with the e-library, the lawmaker has brought the whole world to their doorsteps to explore and exploit.

Mrs. Abidoye said the school will make good use of the facility and the result of it will reflect positively on the students.
