Four inmates escape from central Georgia jail with murder suspect
In a daring escape that unfolded early Monday morning, four inmates, including a murder suspect, managed to break free from the confines of the Bibb County Detention Center. This audacious jailbreak involved a blue Dodge Challenger arriving at the scene at 3 a.m. ET to aid their escape.
The fugitives have been identified as Joey Fournier, 52, who was facing a murder charge; Marc Kerry Anderson, 24, detained for aggravated assault; Johnifer Dernard Barnwell, 37, held for the United States Marshals; and Chavis Demaryo Stokes, 29, who was in custody for possession of a firearm and drug trafficking.
Their escape was orchestrated by climbing out of a damaged window in a day room and subsequently slipping through a cut fence. The escape vehicle, a blue Dodge Challenger, arrived at the facility to assist in their getaway.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the United States Marshals Office, are now actively engaged in a comprehensive manhunt to locate and apprehend these fugitives. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has also joined the collaborative effort to track down the escapees.
Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information about the whereabouts of the escaped inmates or details regarding the vehicle used in the escape. They can report any pertinent information to the sheriff’s office or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers.
In a bid to incentivize tips that could lead to the arrest of each escapee, both Crime Stoppers and the county sheriff’s office are offering a $1,000 reward for each successful tip. For those wishing to provide information, two dedicated tip lines have been established for this case, which can be reached at either 478-310-4502 or 478-310-4485. The authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to bring these fugitives back into custody.
