King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) have signed two agreements to jointly operate prosthetic and rehabilitation centers in the governorates of Aden and Sayun in Yemen, benefiting 6,135 individuals.

The agreements were signed by Assistant Supervisor General of the Center for Operations and Programs Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh.

Director of the Medical and Environmental Aid Department at KSrelief Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Moallem explained that under the agreements, physical rehabilitation services and follow-up will be provided for people with special needs to enable them to contribute to community service.

He added that patients will be diagnosed and the treatment plan will be determined for each patient through the center separately, in addition to fixing prosthetic limbs and providing functional rehabilitation service for prosthetic limbs with continuous follow-up.

Dr. Al-Moallem said the agreements aimed to raise the capabilities of the medical and technical staff professionally and scientifically and prepare them to deal with specific cases, and reduce the migration of specialized medical and technical cadres outside Yemen.

The agreements come as an extension of the humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the center, to raise the capabilities of the health sector in Yemen and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
