Two dead, six injured in overnight shooting near Rutgers
Two people have been killed and six injured when gunfire broke out near Rutgers University in New Jersey.
Officials said the shooting occurred early on 13th September, 2020.
They also stated that the victims have not been identified.
New Brunswick police responded to calls just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday and found eight people with apparent gunshot wounds inside a house just blocks from the Rutgers campus.
All eight who were affected have been transported to various local hospitals.
Officials however said there was no relation between the shooting and Rutgers University.
“There is no affiliation with Rutgers University or its students, but an investigation is still underway.” officials said.
The conditions of the other six is unclear and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office did not immediately return a request for comment.
