AMMWEC Honors Sheikh Drammeh for Promoting Peace and Unity

Sheikh Musa Drammeh has been named a recipient of the National Changemakers Award by the American Muslim and Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC).

In an official letter signed by Anila Ali, President of AMMWEC, the organization expressed its deep admiration for Sheikh Drammeh’s work and invited him to accept the award in person at its upcoming conference titled “Women Changemakers: Countering Antisemitism & Hate, Extremism,” scheduled for July 21, 2025, near Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.

The letter reads in part: “On behalf of the American Muslim and Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC), it is our distinct honor to inform you that you have been selected as a recipient of the AMMWEC National Changemakers Award, which will be presented at our upcoming conference…”

The award, AMMWEC stated, is reserved for individuals who have shown “extraordinary courage, vision, and impact in advancing peace, justice, and interfaith understanding in the face of rising hatred, antisemitism, and extremism.”

“Their leadership and unwavering commitment to building bridges and moral clarity embody the spirit of this award,” the letter added.

AMMWEC hopes Sheikh Drammeh will attend the ceremony in person and possibly deliver brief remarks during the event.

“We hope you will join us in person to accept this honor and allow us to recognize your contributions in the presence of fellow changemakers, members of Congress, diplomats, faith leaders, and civil society partners.”

The event promises to bring together a diverse group of leaders and visionaries working to combat bigotry and extremism while promoting unity and mutual respect.

“We are truly grateful for your work and look forward to celebrating your achievements at this important gathering,” Ali concluded.

The recognition affirms Sheikh Drammeh’s long-standing efforts in promoting interfaith dialogue and peace-building across communities in America and beyond.
