Trump Urges House Republicans to Release Epstein Files, Calls Controversy a “Democrat Hoax”
U.S. President, Donald J. Trump, has called on House Republicans to vote in favor of releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files, insisting that the party has “nothing to hide” and should shift its focus back to economic and policy priorities. Trump made the remarks in a statement posted on his social media account, criticizing what he described as attempts by Democrats to exploit the issue for political gain.
Trump said he had already communicated the same position during a conversation with reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday. “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party,” he wrote.
According to Trump, the Department of Justice has already made tens of thousands of pages related to the Epstein case public and is examining the activities of several “Democrat operatives” and their associations with the late financier. He added that the House Oversight Committee should receive any materials it is legally entitled to access. “I DON’T CARE!” Trump wrote, emphasizing that his main concern is for Republicans to stay focused on core policy issues.
The president urged Republicans to redirect attention toward economic messaging, inflation, tax cuts, immigration, and border security—issues he said represent areas of strong performance for the party. He also reiterated his positions on transgender policies and women’s sports, issues he claimed resonate with voters.
Trump concluded by warning that some Republican lawmakers were being “used” by political opponents by engaging in the Epstein controversy. Describing it as a “TRAP,” he argued that Democrats would have seized on any damaging information before past elections. He called on Republicans to highlight what he characterized as the party’s achievements, ending the message with his signature slogan: “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
